SLJ Review of Forces in Motion
A few simple sentences per spread accompany clear photos of children and familiar things in motion. The text explains types of forces and how they can vary in strength or direction. Children, adults, and cute pets appear in the photos riding in wagons, bicycling, or playing ball. A final page reviews the concepts from the book, such as showing that a basketball can both spin and roll or that a tow truck pulls while a bulldozer pushes. Glossary terms appear in bold, and the definitions are also accompanied by small images. VERDICT This is an easily understood introduction to force and motion for primary grades, useful for the classroom or individual exploration.
