Reviews

Library Media Connection (Carrie Randall)

Each book reviewed contains vivid, color photographs of each title animal, its habitat, and related animals. Every close-up photograph provides great detail, such as the multiple colors that make up a crab’s claws. Topics covered include parts of the body, mating and/or how babies are born, predators, habitat environments, and different species types. Each page or page spread features one new fact, stated in simple, concise sentences. At the end of each book there is a “Learn More” section that includes a website with directions on how to search. This is a nice and safe feature for beginning web explorers. The titles in this series are recommended for collections in need of more primary nonfiction selections. Recommended.
